Review of the Sci-Fi Novel "Ancestor"

Ancestor was written by Scott Sigler in 2006, but the book was not published until April 1 2007. Ancestor is the second of Scotts horror / Sci-fi novels. Scott read the book and offered it for free as a podcast in weekly episodes.

In Ancestor scientists are experimenting on creating an animal with human internal organs. Of course this is taking place on a remote island in secrecy and with armed security guards and surveillance cameras.

This experiment hopes to discover the ancestor of all mammals and provide sort of a human organ ranch with harvest able human organs that don't get rejected by the recipient.

The ancestor is discovered, but it is not the small, harmless mammal that was expected. What was birthed was an evil and very fast growing creature with an enormous appetite and now on the loose.

Scott does an outstanding job of creating the characters and the voices were amazing! How he changes from character voice to another is beyond me. The Ancestor story moved along well and the characters were well developed. If you like horror, sci-fi, thriller and action you can find more info at:
